Melton Waste Park
We are sorry that the AD plant has been approved but very pleased that councillors recognised the impact that this waste facility is already having on the communities of Melton and North Ferriby.
We encourage residents that experience odours from the site to contact the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60.

You will be given a log number and we ask that you email that number and the date of the complaint to either Ward councillors or the North Ferriby parish clerk. We will collate the log numbers on behalf of the community.

Traffic News
A new roundabout is being built on one of the region's busiest roads. The £4.2m scheme will see an improved junction lay-out on the A164 between Kirk Ella and Swanland.

and Road Closure Information on Swanland Website

Councillor Julie Abraham says "We raised the issue of road safety at this junction with council officers in the summer and were informed that while a scheme had been prepared there was no funding for it to go ahead. Many of our residents from Swanland, North Ferriby, Melton and Welton use this junction on a daily basis and have become increasingly fearful at having to pull out onto a busy road with a 60mph speed limit. This is fantastic news."

Councillor Vanessa Walker says "With the increased number of houses being built both in our ward and in the surrounding area, things were only going to get worse at this junction. At peak times trying to exit Great Gutter Lane or sitting in the middle of the road to enter it is very scary and we know many people that avoid the manoeuvre at such times. Obtaining the funding to make this improvement is down to the hard work of our officers and we know that our residents will be very grateful"

Under the latest proposals from the Boundary Commission, North Ferriby, Swanland, Melton and Welton would be in a constituency heading west along the north bank of the Humber as far as Goole and Snaith and including the Isle of Axholme in North Lincolnshire. The proposed name for this new constituency would be Goole and Axholme. Members of the Haltemprice & Howden Constituency Association are recommending that the constituency be named Goole, Howdenshire and Axholme.
